Understanding erosion and best practices in control measures

Join us for a practical, informative, and hands-on workshop designed to help landholders better understand erosion processes and how to manage them effectively. This is a free event but please register all attendees.
We are partnering with Central Tablelands Local Land Services to run a free Erosion Control Workshop in Portland to looking into techniques used to manage erosion on farm and to learn about the on-ground incentives available for landholders through this program.
The day will begin with morning tea, followed by an informative session from erosion control expert Shane Laverty, a River Restoration Manager at the ARRC. Shane will explain erosion processes and the key drivers behind them. Attendees will be invited to work through real-world examples to identify erosion issues and develop control strategies that align with best practice.
After lunch, Peter Evans from Central Tablelands Local Land Services will present on water quality, its relationship to livestock productivity, and the broader community impacts of looking after waterways. You will have the opportunity to talk to Rivers of Carbon project officers to learn more about the program, how to get involved and discuss potential funding opertunities.
The day will include a short paddock walk to explore visible erosion features and discuss practical management techniques on site. The workshop is fully catered and important event details including the location are sent by email one week in advance.
