National Carp Control Plan Community Consultation

Residents are invited to attend a community briefing session hosted by South East Local Land Services and the National Carp Control Plan.

The National Carp Control Plan (NCCP) is exploring the possible release of the carp virus, Cyprinid herpesvirus 3, as a biocontrol agent, to reduce the prevalence of carp in our waterways. This workshop will provide an opportunity for the national coordinator of the NCCP to discuss what the program is about, why carp are a national problem, and why they are asking for your input into the plan.

There will also be an opportunity for residents to contribute feedback to the NCCP about the prevalence of carp in their waterways, how waterways are currently used by the community, and the benefits or impacts that the reduction of carp may have for the community.
